Remains of Australian soldier killed in Afghanistan returns home

Australia's Defence Minister and the Chief of the Defence Force will attend a ceremony in Sydney today for the arrival home of an Australian soldier killed in Afghanistan.

"A formal ramp ceremony will be held at the RAAF base at Richmond for the arrival of the body of Lance Coporal Jason Marks. The Defence Minister Joel Fitgibbon and the Chief of Defence Angus Houston will be among the dignatories for the ceremony which will remain private at the request of Lance Corporal Marks family. The father of two was killed during a firefight with the Taliban earlier in the week. Four other soldiers were injured during the assault. Lance Corporal Marks is the fifth Australian to die in Afghanistan since 2002."
