US envoy to visit to NKorea
Updated
A United States envoy will visit the North Korean capital Pyongyang this week, as Washington continues to pressure the communist state to end its nuclear program.
A State Department spokesman says the envoy, Sung Kim, last visited North Korea last month.
Sung Kim's April visit included talks with officials about Pyongyang's delay in declaring its nuclear programs, which has stalled progress in six-party international talks on the issue.
The spokesman says the Deputy Secretary of State John Negroponte will also visit the Asian capitals Tokyo, Seoul and Beijing this week.
Mr Negroponte will be seeking assistance from Japan, South Korea and China in obtaining a full declaration from North Korea on its nuclear activities.
