Thailand offers Japan help over abductions question

Updated May 9, 2008 05:05:23

Thailand will continue to offer its help to Japan on the issue of abductions of Japanese nationals by North Korea.

Thai Foreign Minister Noppadon Pattama, who's on a visit to Tokyo, says Bangkok is keen to see the issue resolved.

He was speaking after a meeting with Japan's chief cabinet secretary, Nobutaka Machimura.

Thailand maintains diplomatic relations with North Korea, but the abductions issue has prevented Japan from normalising relations with Pyongyang.
