Concern about Pakistan's peace deals
Updated
A group of United States lawmakers say they will raise with Pakistan concerns about its peace deals with extremists.
The four US congressmen have met with Afghanistan's President, Hamid Karzai.
One of the lawmakers, Ben Nelson, a US senator from Nebraska, says the extremists appear to be protected in Pakistan.
But he says they come into Afghanistan and take on the activities of terrorists.
Afghan and Western officials fear Islamabad's moves to reach peace deals with extremists could result in stepped up violence in Afghanistan.
