NATO bombs militant compound in Afghanistan
Updated
Afghan officials say NATO aircraft have bombed a militant compound in the south-west of the country, killing 30 Taliban fighters.
They say the attack in Farah province was launched after three members of the Afghan security forces were killed trying to take the stronghold.
And in the national capital, Kabul, a suicide attacker has blown himself up near a US-led coalition convoy, killing three Afghan civilians.
Officials say there were no serious injuries among the troops.
