China curtails plastic bag use

Severe restrictions have come into force on plastic bags in China as part of official efforts to protect the environment.
Ultra-thin bags are banned from yesterday, while other plastic bags can only be handed out at a charge.
China is by far the world's biggest consumer of plastic bags, going through an estimated 3 billion every day.
