Fiji Rugby Union has no major sponsor as of this week, and its sponsorship marketing and media manager, Jeremy Duxbury, has just resigned.

A sponsorship deal with a Fijian mill company ended on June 1.

Fiji's national 15's coach, Illivasi Tabua, says he cannot understand why one of the most recognisable teams in the region does not have a sponsor.

"The rugby jerseys sell out at the airport, they're a major tourism souvenir and every body wanted one in France at the World Cup, so why can't the team get sponsorship," he said.

The Flying Fijians face their first challenge of the new international test season against Samoa on Saturday.
