Three British soldiers have been killed and a fourth wounded in a suicide attack in the restive southern Afghan province of Helmand on Sunday.

The fatalities take the total number of British troops killed in Afghanistan since the 2001 invasion to 100.

Britain has about 4,000 soldiers stationed in Afghanistan, most of whom are in Helmand.

Meanwhile, an Afghan journalist for the BBC has been found dead in southern Afghanistan.

The reporter had been missing since Saturday after being kidnapped while working in Helmand.

His body was found near the provincial capital, Lashkar Gah.

The discovery of the body comes as authorities reported that 15 other people had been killed in Taliban related violence.
