Tuvalu has scored its first goal in international soccer, competing within the Oceania confederation for the first time.

It was despite Tuvalu's defeat by Tahiti on the second day of the Oceania Futsal Championships in Fiji.

The Oceania Football Confederation's Steve Holloway told Radio Australia Sport they have plenty to offer.

"They actually went one nil up in the second half and where unlucky to loose it," he said.

"Football is developing very fast in the Pacific, and Tuvalu will be a country to look out for."

Meanwhile, a new star of Solomon Islands soccer has emerged at the indoor championships.

A little-known teenager now playing for a club side in Spain, Elliott Ragamo is a major discovery as the Solomons continue to dominate the indoor tournament.

"They are a real joy to watch, the crowd loves them," Holloway said.

"The real crowd pleaser, the number three for Solomon Islands, is named Elliott Ragamo - who has got all the skills.

"He reminds us of Benjamin Totori, the Solomon Island international who now plays in the United States."
