President Bush in Rome for talks on Iran
Updated
US President George W Bush has arrived in Rome for talks with his longtime ally, Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi.
The talks are expected to focus on Iran, but President Bush is likely to press the prime minister for a more robust Italian role in Afghanistan.
For his part, Mr Berlusconi is set to seek Mr Bush's full backing for Italy's drive to be included in negotiations with Tehran over its nuclear program.
President Bush has warned Iran that it will face further sanctions unless it stops enriching uranium.
"My first choice is to solve this diplomatically, all options are on the table," he said.
"The Iranian regime has made a choice - so far and it's a bad choice for the Iranian people, they deserve better than being isolated from the world."
The president will meet with the Pope tomorrow before flying on to France and Britain.
