Electronics CEO jailed for exporting components to India

A US court has jailed an Indian-American man for illegally exporting sensitive electronic components to India.
Parthasarathy Sudarshan pleaded guilty in a Washington court to exporting the components to Indian government entities involved in the development of ballistic missiles and fighter jets.
Mr Sudarshan, the CEO of Cirrus Electronics, has been sentenced to 35 months jail after he pleaded guilty to the violations between 2002 to 2006.
Cirrus Electronics has offices in the United States, Singapore and India,
US sanctions, following illegal Indian nuclear tests a decade ago, prohibit US-based companies from exporting certain goods and services to India.
