Philippine militants have released television journalist Ces Drilon, her cameraman and a university professor after being kidnapped a week ago in the Philippines' south.
From Manila, Shirley Escalante reports Filipina journalist Ces Drilon, cameramen Jimmy Encarnacion and Muslim professor Octavio Dinampo have been turned over to the Philippine police in Sulu province.
They will be brought to a hospital to undergo medical examination and will spend the night in the home of the town mayor who served as negotiator for the hostages.
The captives are said to be in good condition, and in high spirits.
In the morning, they will be subjected to a debriefing by authorities, and are expected to fly back to Manila.
Drilon and her crew were set to interview an Abu Sayyaf leader when they were abducted in Sulu province more than a week ago.
The professor acted as their guide in the mountains of Sulu.
