Asia among worst refugee rights abusers
Updated
Several Asian countries have been identified as among the worst violators of refugees' rights.
They are named in an annual study, conducted by the non-government group US Committee for Refugees and Immigrants.
They are China, India, Malaysia, Thailand and Bangladesh.
The report saya China, Malaysia and Thailand have forcibly returned refugees to their home countries.
It says some of the North Korean refugees repatriated by China have reportedly been executed.
The group says Malaysia forcibly sent refugees from Burma to Thailand, where some of them were sold into slavery and Thailand also forced refugees to return to Burma and Laos.
