America's Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is warning that the world is unprepared for a bird flu pandemic.
Director, Julie Gerberding says there's no vaccine that will provide universal protection, there are big gaps in surveillance in some countries and there's no control over the virus in wild animals.
Speaking in Malaysia's capital, Kuala Lumpur during a conference on diseases, she says it's imperative every nation shares information because the world can't afford to have the virus move into humans, undetected and unreported.
Experts says the H5-N1 bird flu virus could trigger the next pandemic and kill millions of people if it becomes easily transmissible among humans.
Indonesia has the highest human casualties from the disease, it's infected 135 people and killed 110.
