India, Burma to hold border trade talks
Updated
India and Burma will sign an investment pact and hold talks on wider border trade as a sign of expanding ties.
Officials in India say it will also offer credit totalling $US84 million to Burma during a trip to the country by junior commerce minister Jairam Ramesh.
Mr Ramesh left for Burma on Sunday for a four-day visit.
India says it will also offer two million US dollars for 16 power transformers that were damaged in the cyclone and $200,000 for the repairs of a famous Buddhist pagoda also hit by last month's storm.
Last year, New Delhi also pledged to invest $150 million for gas exploration in Burma.
