Australian PM pays tribute to cancer campaigner

Australia's prime minister, Kevin Rudd, has paid tribute to cancer campaigner, Jane McGrath, saying she was a source of hope and inspiration to all Australians.

Mrs McGrath, the wife of former Australian test cricketer, Glenn McGrath, died in her Sydney home on Sunday after a long battle with cancer.

Mr Rudd has told parliament, the thoughts and prayers of the nation are with the McGrath family.

"In the face of incredible challenges, Jane's extraordinary courage and passion for life, I believe, has touched the hearts of all Australians," he said.

"I believe it's touched the hearts of all members of this place.

"She'll be remembered with great fondness for her work to help women and their families and that work will continue."
