Solomons looks to Taiwan for trade opportunities
Updated
Solomon Islands' prime minister, Dr Derek Sikua, says a Taiwanese trade fair taking place in the capital Honiara will improve the flow of trade between the two countries.
Dr Sikua says the third annual Taiwanese trade fair, involving 31 trade delegates, will provide the Solomon Islands' private sector with access to Taiwanese companies and products.
He says the initiative will help Solomon Islands to achieve its economic potential, particularly in the import and export sectors.
"The delegation from Taiwan is here - not only here to showcase their products, they will be exploring opportunities to sell buy or invest in the areas of construction, solar system, diving equipment, motor parts, fisheries, processing equipment, machinery and furniture," he said.
