The Solomon Islands Public Employers Union has dropped its plans for a protest march after the government agreed to address its demands.
Union general secretary Paul Belande says a memorandum of agreement has been signed between the union and the Public Service.
The agreements paves the way for negotiations on a number of issues including housing entitlements, a new income tax threshold and a new Public Service Bill.
The agreement requires the union to withdraw its plans for a protest on Friday.
