North Korea is to be removed from a US terrorism blacklist after it released details of its contentious nuclear activities.
As Washington Correspondent Michael Rowland reports, six months after it was due, a dossier containing details of North Korea's nuclear program has been handed to Chinese officials.
In response, US President George Bush has eased sanctions on the communist regime and is to remove North Korea from a list of countries deemed to be sponsors of terrorism.
"This can be a moment of opportunity for North Korea," Mr Bush said.
"If North Korea continues to make the right choices, it can repair its relationship with the international community, much as Libya has over the past few years."
The President once branded North Korea as part of an "axis of evil" that also included Iraq and Iran.
