Cholera outbreaks continue in Vietnam
Updated
Vietnam's health ministry says despite strenuous efforts to eradicate cholera, there have been three major outbreaks since late last year, and 600 new cases since March.
The ministry says the disease has also spread from the capital Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City in the south, and 16 Vietnamese provinces.
Although cholera can be fatal, there've been no reported deaths from Vietnam's recent outbreaks.
The World Health Organisation has urged Vietnam to improve water quality and sanitation to stop the disease spreading further.
