More reports Taliban could expand territory in Afghanistan

Meanwhile, there are more reports that the Taliban are growing stronger and threatening to expand their territory in Afghanistan.

Dan Karpenchuk reports that an international group has released a report in Ottawa calling for major changes to combat terror in the embattled country.

The Senlis Council is an international think tank committed to implementing policy changes in several areas including security in conflict zones.

In a new study called 'Angry Hearts and Angry Minds', the group says it has found a strong Taliban presence moving closer to Kabul, indicating the insurgency is gaining strength, and not only in the southern Kandahar region.

It points to the recent prison break in Kandahar and the assassination attempt on president, Hamid Karzai.

The group says employment, development and aid must be major priorities to gain the support of local Afghans.

The Pentagon has also issued a recent report warning that the Taliban has regrouped and attacks on foreign troops are likely to increase.
