Dalai Lama's representatives to meet Chinese officials
Updated
Senior envoys from the Dalai Lama are preparing to meet with Chinese Government representatives.
Chinese Government officials will meet envoys from their sworn enemy, the Dalai Lama, for two days of talks in Beijing.
This will be the second such meeting since a violent rebellion by Tibetans in March.
China has come under great diplomatic pressure to hold talks with the Dalai Lama.
Because this week's meeting has no publicly-stated goals or objectives, some analysts say the talks are little more than a publicity stunt for China to appear reasonable on the World stage before the Olympics Games.
But the Chinese Government has called on the Dalai Lama and his representatives to embrace this opportunity to improve the situation in Tibet.
