French envoy says stability vital for FPolynesia
Updated
The outgoing French envoy to French Polynesia has told the Pacific territory that political stability is an absolute necessity for development.
As Oceania Flash reports, Anne Boquet finished her post as high commissioner last week, saying the onus of political stability was on the local political class.
She said a more positive climate of confidence was needed for French Polynesia to move forward.
During her three year tenure, French Polynesia had five successive governments and three presidents as a result of motions of no-confidence and party-hopping.
Before her departure, she was decorated Commander in the Order of Tahiti Nui - French Polynesia's highest honour.
Ms Boquet's successor, Adolphe Colrat, was appointed last month by the French government.
