In the southwestern Philippines, four Vietnamese fishermen have been arrested for poaching.
Radio Australia's Shirley Escalante reports from Manila that they will be charged with illegal entry.
Local officials say the Vietnamese fishermen were in one of five boats chased by Philippine authorities in the southwestern province of Palawan.
The four other boats managed to escape.
None of the Vietnamese spoke English and communicated with arresting officers through sign language.
A compressor used for diving and a still undetermined amount of fish were confiscated from the Vietnamese fishing boat.
Ten Vietnamese fishermen arrested in Philippine waters last year have been sentenced to serve a year in prison.
Another 14 Vietnamese fishermen were caught poaching in May, and are standing trial.
