Fiji delegation in China to study ethanol production
Updated
A Fiji government delegation has begun a visit to China to research how to produce ethanol from cassava.
The Fiji Times says the delegation is made up from officials from the ministries of agriculture and energy.
They will see first-hand how Chinese farmers in Guangxi Province mechanise the planting and harvesting of cassava.
The paper says they'll also be learning how cassava is converted into ethanol and starch, as well as many other useful by-products.
