The United States is imposing new sanctions over Iran's nuclear program.
Washington Correspondent Kim Landers reports that the US is imposing sanctions on another four individuals and four companies for their ties to Iran's nuclear and missile programs.
The US Treasury has announced the asset freeze and visa bans as part of a global effort to step up pressure on Iran to halt its disputed nuclear activities.
A new analysis shows that American exports to Iran have grown tenfold during President George W Bush's years in office.
The biggest export has been cigarettes, worth at least $US150 million, but other shipments include fur clothing, sculptures, perfume and musical instruments.
