Australian cyclist Cadel Evans has opened up a handy lead over the other race favourites heading into tonight's fifth stage of the Tour de France.
He finished fourth on the overnight time trial to move into fourth place on the overall standings, 21 seconds behind the race leader Stefan Schumacher of Germany.
Luxembourg's Kim Kirchen is 12 seconds behind Schumacher in second place overall.
Evans leads the fancied Denis Menchov by 51 seconds and Spain's Alejandro Valverde by 65 seconds, and says he's happy to be out of the yellow jersey for the time being.
"At this stage I sort of like the fact that Kirchen and Schumacher have it and going into the stage of Super-Besse I think it's a good position, so - so far so good for us," he said.
