S Korea prosecutors seek seven year sentence for Samsung chief
Updated
South Korean prosecutors have demanded seven years jail for former Samsung Group chief, Lee Kun-hee, facing trial on tax evasion and breach of trust charges.
Prosecutors were also seeking a fine of $US350 million.
The 66-year-old, who led the country's biggest conglomerate for nearly 20 years, stepped down from his roles after being indicted in April.
The Samsung group accounts for 20 per cent of South Korea's total market capitalisation, around the size of Singapore's GDP.
