Call for Aust. climate change policy overhaul

Updated July 13, 2008 17:23:47

A leading aid organisation says Australia's current climate change policies will do little to slow rising sea levels.

It warns the Federal Government's pursuit of an emissions trading scheme is important, but only part of the solution.

The group's James Ensor says Australia must cut emissions to 60 per cent of 1990 levels, within 12 years.
