Nepali police officers taken hostage by juniors

Officials in Nepal say about 200 riot policemen based in a camp in the southwest of the country have taken several senior police officers hostage to protest ill treatment and poor food.
The area has been cordoned off and security forces have surrounded the camp about 320 kilometres from the capital Kathmandu.
A home ministry official says the the government has instructed the police chief to do whatever is required to maintain discipline in the force and deal with the situation.
