China steps up Olympic security
Updated
The Chinese government says it will step up security around the Beijing Olympics to counter the threat of terrorist attacks.
Authorities in Hebei province say that security check-points will be set up on all roads leading to Beijing.
A new rapid response team has also been added to the 100,000 strong anti-terrorism force that will be deployed during the Games.
The announcement comes amid reports that two people have been executed for terrorist activities in China's north-west Xinjiang region.
