Fishermen in Japan strike over fuel costs
Updated
Thousands of fishermen in Japan have gone on a one-day strike against rising fuel prices.
The fisherman say the industry is on the brink of collapse, and are demanding government help.
They say the price of fuel has tripled in the past five years, and more than doubled since January this year.
About 200,000 boats - almost the country's entire fishing fleet - cancelled the day's work to raise awareness of the industry's plight.
