Former SKorean leader agrees to hand over documents
Updated
South Korea's former president Roh Moo-Hyun has agreed to hand over classified documents from his five years in office, ending a row with his successor.
The office of the new president, Lee Myung-Bak, had accused Mr Roh of illegally keeping the documents at his home, despite warnings he and his aides could face a legal probe.
Unauthorised leaks or possession of classifed information is punishable by up to seven years in prison or fines of up to $US20,000 dollars.
In a letter sent to president Lee, Mr Roh expressed regrets but insisted he had kept copies of data for reference only.
