Australian couple jailed on drug charges in Vietnam

A court in southern Vietnam has sentenced an Australian woman to life in jail and her husband, to a 20-year jail term for trafficking heroin.
Local media report the couple, of Vietnamese origin, faced the Ho Chi Minh City People's Court on Friday, which found both guilty of buying and selling drugs illegally.
The couple was detained two years ago while preparing to fly from Ho Chi Minh City to Australia after police and customs found 447 grams of heroin in their baggage.
They bought the heroin in Vietnam for just over $US19,000.
