Pacific trade ministers in talks

Updated July 21, 2008 19:39:24

Trade ministers from the Pacific Islands Forum are meeting in Cook Islands this week, to discuss further ways to expand trade and economic relations in the region.

The forum's acting secretary general, Feleti Teo, says member countries recognise that increased dialogue during this week's meeting, will impact on the nature and direction of the Pacific trade agenda.

Ministers are also expected to consider a proposal to appoint a chief trade advisor to assist forum island countries.
