Torrential rain in central China

Torrential rain has claimed the lives of at least 10 people in the central Chinese province of Hubei.

The official news agency Xinhua says a week of heavy falls has forced the evacuation of more than 100,000 people.

In one area, the city of Xiangfan, more than 30 centimetres of rain fell in a single 48-hour period.
