North Korea has signed on to a 'non-aggression' pact with South-East Asian nations after regional security talks at the ASEAN forum in Singapore.

The deal comes a day after unprecedented talks on North Korea's nuclear disarmament.

With the signing in Singapore, North Korea has become the 15th nation outside the ASEAN bloc to sign the non-aggression pact, the Treaty of Amity and Co-operation.

North Korea's Foreign Minister Pak Ui-chun signed the document, a day after high level talks with counterparts from the five other countries involved in disarmament talks.

Among them was the US Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice who welcomed the 'good spirit' of the negotiations after her first meeting with Mr Pak.
