Pay cut offered to Air Fiji employees

Updated July 25, 2008 14:21:18

Air Fiji has reportedly proposed a 15 per cent pay cut for employees so the airline can stay afloat.

Transport Workers Union general secretary Kamlesh Kumar says Air Fiji has now put three options to the union including the pay cut, redundancy and outsourcing some of the airline's operations.

Mr Kumar says the union will now have to hold talks with members to discuss the issues.

Fijilive says the development comes after the permanent arbitrator ruled in favour of the workers who claimed cost cutting measures after the 2006 coup were not in agreement with the union.
