Pacific Ocean typhoon moves towards Taiwan
Updated
Taiwan is bracing for the arrival of Typhoon Fung-Wong, which is on course to hit the region with wind gusts of more than 170 kilometres an hour.
Local governments say people will not be expected to go to work or school on Monday, and markets will be closed.
The storm is expected to make landfall early on Monday morning local time, and pass over the Taiwan Strait to southern China on Tuesday.
