Nepali president urges consensus government
Updated
Nepal's first president has used his maiden address to the nation to appeal for deadlocked rival political parties to form a consensus government.
In a televised speech, Ram Baran Yadav said he hoped any new government would include all political parties, and said it would enable the peace process to be brought to a logical conclusion.
Nepal has been without a functioning government since the 28th of May, when the newly-elected constitutional assembly abolished the monarchy and declared a republic.
Attempts to form a government between the Maoists, the Nepali Congress and the Communist Party have so far failed.
