A multi-million dollar cassava biofuel project near the Papua New Guinean capital, Port Moresby, looks like attracting another major investor.

Pacific Magazine says the vice chairman of the Korean firm LG International Corporation, has visited the site with the chairman of the Changae Group of Companies, the project's major sponsor.

The report says LG has expressed strong interest in becoming a project partner, at a time when the biofuel initiative is getting international attention.

The magazine says LG's participation would raise the profile of the cassava shrub project, and help open up more markets to PNG's biofuels.
