The World Bank will give Bangladesh $US50 million in loans to help poor families affected by last year's deadly cyclone.

The funds will provide a boost to the Social Investment Program Project, which is helping people affected by Cyclone Nargis rebuild their lives.

The program has already helped people in more than 1,000 villages across Bangladesh.
