Beijing Olympic Organisers have been told it may rain during Friday night's opening ceremony.
Beijing has enjoyed clear blue skies for the last two days but weather forecasters have warned it won't last.
Friday's forecast is for a cloudy day with developing thunderstorms, threatening to throw a dampener on the opening ceremony and fireworks display.
Chinese authorities have talked of plans to control rainfall through the process of cloud seeding but admit it can only work under the right weather conditions.
Regardless of the forecast, organisers are confident of putting on a spectacular show.
