A group claiming to represent grassroots Solomon Islanders plans to hold a protest march in Honiara on Thursday.

The Grassroots Network for Good Governance says they have invited speakers to discuss land reforms, rising prices and unemployment.

Others will talk on corruption in both the public and private sectors.

Deputy prime minister and minister for rural development, Fred Fono has condemned the planned protest march.

He told SIBC News it is a political gimmick organised by the opposition.
