Australian live cattle exports experience SE Asia boom

There's further evidence of a sustained boom in Australian live cattle exports to South East Asia.
Meat and Livestock Australia says over 540,000 Australian cattle have been exported to Indonesia in the last financial year.
Live Export Manager Michael Finucan says there's been significant growth in trade during the last two years.
"We have just got the, figures in for the end of the financial year, so the 30th June 08 which shows that the live exports to Indonesia are up another 90,000 head, which is 540,000 cattle for the year," he said.
"Since the 05/06 financial year the numbers were about 350,000 cattle - we are up nearly 200,000 head which is significant growth."
