US President George W Bush says its premature to drop North Korea from his "axis of evil".

Speaking at a press conference after summit talks with South Korean President Lee Myung-Bak in Seoul, Mr Bush says he's still concerned about Pyongyang's human rights records, uranium enrichment activities as well as its ballistic missile programs.

August 12 is the earliest North Korea can be taken off the blacklist, but Mr Bush says Pyongyang has a lot to do if it wants to be removed swiftly from the list.

The blacklist blocks access to US economic assistance and to aid from multilateral bodies.
