Western Australia's energy crisis finally over
Updated
Western Australia's Premier Alan Carpenter says the state's energy crisis is effectively over with the resumption of partial supplies from the stricken gas plant on Varanus Island.
Mr Carpenter has visited the site to oversee the resumption of partial supplies, two months after a major supply pipe exploded, cutting a third of the state's gas.
Normal supplies are expected by the end of the year
Mr Carpenter says lessons have been learned from the incident and his government will look at ways to avoid such accidents in the future.
