Wallis and Futuna holds census

A census is underway in the French Pacific islands of Wallis and Futuna.
Oceania Flash reports the aim is collect crucial information about the island's latest population trends.
The census takes place every five years and involves visiting about 3,000 households and asking residents to complete a questionnaire.
Recent trends have shown that the population on Wallis and Futuna is decreasing, mainly due to constant migration to neighbouring New Caledonia.
The survey operation is scheduled to end in mid-August.
