PNG gives Solomons political advice
Updated
A Solomon Islands government delegation is in Papua New Guinea studying laws governing PNG's political party system and candidates.
Our reporter in Port Moresby, Firmin Nanol, says PNG passed legislation guiding the conduct of political parties and candidates in 2002.
It's aimed at preventing changes of government and political instability.
Solomon Islands has similar problems to its Melanesian neighbour PNG.
The delegation has held talks with the PNG government and electoral commission officials.
The Solomon Islands High Commissioner in PNG, Bernard Bata'anisia says the delegation will recommend Solomon Islands introduce a similar law.
He says it also welcomes plans by PNG to offer expert advice on drafting a party integrity law.
