Fresh warnings in PNG over fake condoms
Updated
There are new warnings about fake condoms being sold in Papua New Guinea.
The PNG Post Courier reports global intelligence networks have alerted PNG customs officials about low quality condoms becoming more available in the Pacific.
They have warned that unless PNG improves its border control, more fake condoms will enter the market.
PNG's customs commissioner, Gary Juffa, told a Institute of National Affairs forum that the fake condoms threaten PNG's bid to tackle the HIV/AIDs epidemic.
He called on the government to provide adequate funding to increase the number of customs personnel.
